A Science of the Imaginary

In short, I am calling for a science of the imaginary, which architecture is uniquely positioned to inaugurate. Design is a choice between possible futures which, like the imaginary “I” of the architect that it continues to delete and redraw, are inventions and constructions as real and constrained as any voting booth and the choices contained therein. Exacerbate or ameliorate? Yes.
